Since the past few years it has been seen that BMW has been serving the luxury car segment with diligence and integrity, and now it is looking to serve users by entering the two wheeler segment in a big way. BMW Motorrad doesn't have their own network in India, and brings its bikes via the CBU route from Berlin.
This makes prices of these bikes higher than that of those being sold by Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki. BMW bikes are available at Navnit Motors in Mumbai and Deutsche Motoren in Delhi. Navnit Motors has sold 39 BMw bikes until now, and aims to hit total sales of 50 units by the end of 2011.
BMW Motorrad is considering the introduction of an under 1000 cc superbike in India with hopes that it can target the 450 cc and 500 cc segment. However, one can choose to estimate that in the long run BMW Motorrad will think of increasing their potential and aim for the higher bike segment namely the 600 cc or 800 cc segment in India. The BMW X3, G650gs and the F800 R are some of the bikes that you need to watch out for in the Indian market.
